The pullover hackle method is one of my favorites for small dries and spring creek style patterns. It allows you to add hackle helping the fly float and giving it a nice profile without sacrificing the way the fly floats. It makes for really nice emergers and cripples by keeping the hackle on the top of the fly it allows for the fly to ride lower in the surface film. I tie a lot of dry flies this way as you can tell from the fly tying section, I like not having to get the exact right hackle size and I like the way the fly rides in the water. It's also easier to tie then the traditional hackle method, you can make just about any kind of post (foam, poly yarn, thread) and pull it over and tie it off.
