Copious Precipitation Blows.

Summer break started for me about 3 weeks ago, and since then I have fished the local creeks about 5 times... Which is pretty pathetic considering I have basically no responsibilities. It has rained almost every other day since I got out, screwing up my plans and causing some pretty severe Carp withdrawals. Local creeks, which are nothing more than drainage ditches without cement, are running upwards of 5 to 8 feet higher than regular summer flows. This can be both a good and a bad thing, however. Unfortunately, all of this rain came right after the spawn started, so I assume there will be very few baby carpio's in the upper sections of my favorite streams. The good news is high water has flooded some pretty sweet fields making for some pretty unique flats style fishing that I usually have to drive quite a ways for. All in all, this rain sucks though. I much enjoy typical summer fishing, and this is far from it. To make things worse, all of my favorite mountain biking trails have taken a pretty fatal beating from erosion... And that's not cool. Can I have some sun now?
