The Deceiver is definitely an old classic baitfish pattern you can put it right up there with a Clouser. This is just a slight variation to the original and the only change is tying the buck tail in reverse. By tying it in reverse you can get a larger profile and much like Hangtime style musky flies you get that illusion of bulk without the extra weight. I like using the larger eyes to match the larger profile, this pattern has been catching fish every time we can locate them. The best colors have been Grey/White/Purple and Chartreuse/White .
