The fall bite has to be one of my favorite times of the year, and mostly because fall is my favorite season. I get sick of the dog days of summer and the fall provides a nice relief from the heat. Fall fishing can be a great opportunity to land a monster fish and it's that mad dash to get as many warm water fish as you can before it shuts off. Yeah we fish trout in the winter and fish some of the warm water discharges but it's definitely not the same. The fish like hibernating animals loading up on calories before the cold weather slows their metabolism and they go into their winter holes, they feel that same mad dash as we are as fisherman. You need to take full advantage of the fall there's nothing worse then winter coming and sitting inside wishing you would have fished this or that place this year or landed a couple more bass. Once the cold arrives it feels like an eternity before it warms up again. You better hit it like you're going to jail for the next 10 years, we are, no regrets this winter.
