Sunday, Landon and I got out for a bit. It was worth getting up early for, the early morning bite was pretty solid. It's been so ridiculously hot lately you've got to get out before the sun gets all the way up or stay out after it goes down. The bass were crushing the frogs, we caught a couple dozen and everything came on some sort of frog pattern, angry top water takes are the best. The fishing slowed down pretty quick once the sun got on the water and we switched over to some streamers but didn't get a single nudge. I've been throwing frogs for the past two weeks some days they want it popped and some just a steady strip but they're definitely fun to fish. This week the forecast is looking to be a little better as far as temps go I'd take full advantage of it. Those new flymen double barrel poppers with Cohen's frog legs make some easy productive frog patterns. I'll get some step by steps up later in the week. Oh, and the Cicadas are in town so they should make for some good top water takes as well.
